One of our efforts to show the love of God to Angier is to help at Angier Elementary School as much as we can. A big need they have is for End of Grade Testing proctors. This year’s testing will be May 29 - 31; proctors are needed on these dates from 8:30am-12:30pm. We started a sermon series through 1 John this past Sunday. This is an amazing book of the Bible; it tells us how we can KNOW, if we have received eternal life. We don't need to live in fear or doubt. We can know with 100% confidence that when we breathe our last breath the next moment we will be with Jesus. Here's one of our baptisms from this past Sunday. It's great to see God powerfully at work in the life of a young person. His love brings hope.

Everyone gets excited about being "at" church on Easter Sunday, but what's more important is "being" the church every day. The message yesterday laid out an argument for why we can claim with boldness that Jesus is God. Let's live in the light of that news everyday and be intentional about sharing it with others! Why didn't Jesus save Himself and come down off of the cross? It was because for the glory of God and for our good it was better for Him to come up from the grave than to come down off of the cross. #EveryDayIsResurrectionSunday http://anthem-church.org

Around 3:00PM almost 2,000 years ago Jesus said, "It is finished." Having completed His work of grace on the cross, the Son of God breathed a final breath, gave up His Spirit, and died so that through His death we may receive eternal life.

The cross is God shielding us from Himself (His holiness), with Himself (His Son), and to Himself (His love).

Jesus is The Substitute. On the cross He substituted His righteousness for our sin. There's no substitute for The Substitute.

Around noon almost 2,000 yrs ago Jesus entered the worst 3 hrs in all eternity enduring God's judgment for sin in our place. Thank You Jesus!
